What To Do Between Christmas & New Year's in San Diego

What are you doing with the kids this week? Of course I've got you covered... See below for fun places that are OPEN THIS WEEK (and socially distanced)... 🙌

Children need your PRESENCE more than presents... Take advantage of this week while the kids are out of school and give them your TIME and make some new MEMORIES together. 💞

BALBOA PARK:

Museums are closed but there's so much to explore just walking around. Pack a picnic, go on some hikes or nature walks. Can you find all 13+ gardens?!?! 🌵🌹🎋🌳🌿

SEAPORT VILLAGE:

It's fun just to walk around by the bay, watch the boats passing by ⛵️, buy a kite from Kite Flite and take it for a spin at the windy Embarcadero Marina Park North 🪁, try the new coffee spot at Spill The Beans ☕️ and #shopsmall

LIBERTY STATION:

Always a favorite place to walk around, but right now look for their Salute the Season ArtWalk. 🖼 Count all the fountains ⛲️ you see and be sure to bring lots of pennies for lots of wishes! ✨ Grab some takeout from the still open public market - there’s lots of space to spread out and find your own picnic spot. Next to the playground 🤸🏻‍♀️ (bathrooms!🚻 ) down by the water is a good spot! 😉 👍

HIKES:

Open up your phone's maps, zoom in on the dashed green lines around you to find a local trail. There are TONS that I bet you never knew existed so close to you. ⛰

BIKE RIDES:

Load the bikes up and ride somewhere new this week. Try one of the flat paved pathways around the many reservoirs, bayside or river trails. Mission Bay, Liberty Station, Imperial Beach, Bayshore Bikeway, Coronado Ferry Landing, Santee Walker Preserve, San Luis Rey River Trail are just a few good ones to try. 🚴🏼‍♀️

BOTANIC GARDENS:

These are great places to connect with nature and get some fresh air. We love the Water Conservation Garden, Alta Vista Botanical Gardens and San Diego Botanic Gardens (their Holiday Lights are still up at night 🌟 and have been extended to Jan. 16th); all of which are OPEN THIS WEEK! 🌿 🌸 🌿

ESCONDIDO:

The Northern Lights display at The California Center for the Arts is still going on until Jan. 3 from 4:30-9pm DAILY! (Catch the fun light show/dance party every 30 min.) This is one of our favorite holiday outings and it's FREE! 🌟

What else do you have planned this week? Get out there and make some deposits in the memory banks of your children. 💖
