🦁 SAN DIEGO ZOO: CHILDREN'S BASECAMP!!!

Opens March 11th!!! 🙌 “Four acres of wildlife adventure to learn…, climb, scramble, jump & play in nature habitat animal areas from around the world.” (psst…sneak peak coming soon. stay tuned!) 😉 💻 website




 

🍀 ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATIONS

⛺️ SAFARI PARK: ROAR & SNORE

March 19 - May 7. Spend the night at the Safari Park with your family! Campers of all ages are invited to experience a sleepover that has something for everyone, including up-close animal encounters and walking tours to observe the nighttime activities of wildlife.


Other dates are available every month for the Roar & Snore, but those listed above are the only dates that include access to the seasonal Butterfly Jungle. COST: $149 & up (everyone I've heard from about this say it's worth it). 💻 website



 

🎪 CIRCUS VARGAS

Feb. 5 - April. 18. Join the Circus! Or at least go watch them perform acrobats, daredevil tricks and the flying trapeze. 2 hrs of nonstop fun! (No animals are involved.) Click here for all the info, dates, locations and Tips & Tricks For Seeing Circus Vargas with Kids.

🌸 CHERRY BLOSSOMS BLOOM

March 11-13, festival. Cherry Blossoms bloom for only about a month in March; make your plans to go see them so you don't miss out. There's a 3-day Cherry Blossom Festival from March 11-13, get there early if you plan to go. Otherwise you can walk under the Cherry Blossom Trees and experience their beauty as long as they're in bloom.


COST: $12/general, $10/student/military/seniors 65+; Free for ages 6 and under! Memberships are fairly inexpensive here and they include reciprocal admission to all AHS Gardens in the country; including the San Diego Botanic Garden, Butterfly Farms, and the Water Conservation Garden. HOURS: 10-6 daily. 💻 website



 

🐯 DANIEL TIGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD LIVE SHOW

March 27, 2022. “Won’t you be my neighbor?” Daniel Tiger and all of his friends from the beloved PBS KIDS television series are hopping aboard Trolley to your town with DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD LIVE! Along with “O” the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Prince Wednesday, Mom and Dad Tiger and many more, Daniel Tiger will take live audiences on an interactive musical adventure to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, sharing stories of friendship, helping others and celebrating new experiences. This live theatrical production filled with music, dancing, laughter and “grr-ific” surprises will warm the hearts of multiple generations.

🐅 THE JUNGLE BOOK PERFORMANCE

March 4-20, 2022. Mowgli is rambunctious and curious, scrappy and silly. Sound like a kid you know? This new adaptation of the beloved Rudyard Kipling story will keep you perched on the edge of your seat as young Mowgli comes face-to-face with sneaky monkeys, noisy vultures, and his mortal enemy — the tiger Shere Khan.

Growing up in the dangerous Indian jungle, Mowgli learns to respect his environment and the wisdom of the animals.


March 11 is Pajama Night! Wear your favorite pajamas to the show and receive a special gift.


March 19 is an ASL-Interpreted performance at 2pm.

💐 CARLSBAD FLOWER FIELDS OPEN

Opens March 1st. Nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for only about 6-8 weeks per year; generally from March-May. COST: All timed tickets must be purchased in advance online. Other activities include: bird aviaries, wagon rides, gem mining, whimsical playground, sweet-pea maze, food and more. (Food: pizza trolley, strawberry shack, ice cream & popcorn.)


COST: $17/adults, $15/seniors 60+ & military, $5/kids ages 3-10. If you'd like to return again, they have season passes available. $46/adults, $42/seniors 60+ & military, $20/kids ages 3-10. HOURS: 9-5 (Cost & Hours info comes from a general search I did for a random day and time; check before you to make sure.) 💻 website
