Grocery Deliveries in San Diego
Who's ready to feast this week? Did you get the turkey and cranberries? Don't wait until the last minute to brave the crowds. There's an app for that! Use a grocery delivery service!
We used Instacart recently (ad) as they're partnered with our weekly recipe service. It was so easy to add items to our online grocery cart right from my cell phone. And I didn't even have to leave my kitchen. They delivered it the next day, on a Sunday no less!
While the personal shopper was selecting items from our list, he would text us about any substitutions if items were out of stock. Our produce was great and frozen items were still frozen when they arrived.
In the past we've also used Vons delivery and Amazon Prime Now as partnered with Sprouts. Both were also great and easy to use. I tend to use Amazon Prime Now for super last minute things because their delivery windows run as late as 10pm. Perfect for items needed for the next day, like milk or cereal.

RALPH'S GROCERY STORE in Mission Valley
Delivers with either Instacart or ClickList. With Instacart you’ll get a FREE delivery on your first order over $10. While ClickList has the option for a curbside pick up. Order online and pay for your groceries at the curbside when you pick them up. ClickList normally charges a $6.95 service fee, but they’ll waive it for your first 3 orders.
VONS GROCERY STORE Scheduled and same-day delivery if you order by 8:30am. Every purchase must be a minimum of $49.
AMAZON PRIME NOW*
Partnered with SPROUTS, Bristol Farms and more. Scheduled and same day delivery in 2 hours! Or, even as late as 10pm! You must be an Amazon Prime member and you'll have to download a separate "Prime Now" app to your phone. You can choose delivery in a 2 hour window, 1 hour window or within an hour. Delivery fees vary based on the delivery method. You can also tip the driver directly from the app up to 24 hours after delivery. Delivery from Sprouts with Prime Now is one of my favorite grocery delivery services.
AMAZON FRESH* If you're already an Amazon Prime member, you'll pay only $14.99/month (in addition to your annual Prime membership). All deliveries over $40 are free, deliveries under $40 will have a $9.99 delivery fee. You choose if you want to be home or not. Choose attended delivery if you’ll be home or doorstep delivery if you won’t be home. If you’re not home, they’ll secure any cold or frozen foods in coolers at no extra charge.
WAL-MART GROCERY STORES Has store pickup available in 4 San Diego locations only. It’s a FREE service and there are no extra fees or mark-ups to use the service. Order & pay online and then choose a 2 hour pick-up window. If you order by 1am, you can pick it up after 8am that same day. If you order before 10am, you can pick it up after 4pm that day. You’ll receive a phone call when your order is ready. You can also schedule a grocery pick-up time up to 3 weeks later. When you arrive, park in the designated parking stalls. Bring your own reusable bags and they'll pack them up at the curbside.
